Consignment vs Thrift

Consignment is when one person sells another person’s item on their behalf in exchange for a percentage of the sale once it occurs. In thrifting, products for sale are acquired via donation. As a result, consignment shops typically offer a more curated selection of items, and in more selective conditions, at higher price points. Big pro of consigning your items is you are more likely to fetch a higher price for them. The con: your items may not sell. My job is to make sure they do. When pricing inventory, I’m looking for that sweet spot where I’m making the consignors as much money as possible, making the shop as much money as possible, and ensuring the customer is excited about their purchase. The consignment experience should feel successful to everyone involved.

I do not do markdowns or run sales on items. If an item sits stagnant for a majority of its consignment period after which point a customer expresses interest in it, I recommend allowing the customer to haggle. If you, as the consignor, are not comfortable with this, please inform me and I will ensure your prices remain firm.

Brands We Love

FAQs

Men's and women's clothes, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and accessories. I am most interested in whether or not an item will connect with somebody–pieces that are more eclectic, funky, vintage, currently trending, or very high-end. Items can be brand name or home-sewn. It’s more about what it is, not where it’s from.
